Pros And Cons Of Google Adsense

You have that site on-line for quite a while, its generating a good number of hits every day and you're thinking whether or not to use AdSense advertising on it to make it generate some form of income.

Well this is a description of the pros and cons of this approach to Internet advertising. AdSense has definitely hit the Internet like something from another planet and people are very excited about it everywhere. There are negative aspects to Adsense and alternatives to consider.

AdSense is generally a great tool for webmasters. Whereas, they would use to worry about how to raise enough money to keep their sites profitable, or at least keep them on-line those worries are gone.

AdSense allows webmasters to forget about those worries and concentrate on creating good content for their sites. In fact, the emphasis is now on creating quality content (often associated with the top-paying words) which will bring you many visitors.

AdSense can also very well integrated with your website, it's easily customizable in terms of colors, size and position which means you can experiment with it in any way you like to maximize your income.

AdSense is a very good means of generating a constant revenue on your site. All you need to do is create some quality content and keep it updated constantly and you can literally live off your website. A lot of people are doing just that nowadays with AdSense, so it's become sort of a business in itself.

It's also a great program because you can have the same account advertising on all your pages. This is great for webmasters wit a lot of content because it means they don't have to create many accounts unnecessarily.

But as stated, above, there are some negative aspects to advertising with AdSense and here's a small list of such cons.

Clearly the largest negative impact the AdSense program can have on you is through Google closing your accounts. Most of the time this happens because of so called 'click fraud', which means somebody would be producing artificial clicks on your page.

There's one really nasty side to that. It doesn't have to be you making those artificial clicks. It could very well be your competition doing this in order to shut you down, or the competitor of whoever is advertising on your page, looking to drive their marketing costs up.

The earning AdSense brings you are by no means constant. In fact, they're not even close to that. Anything you do to your site could end up being a big mistake costing you a great deal of money. It's that kind of pressure that has a negative impact on you.

First of all, you constantly need to make sure your site is in the spotlight of search engines when people are searching for whatever it is your site is about.

If you fail to do that you won't have any visitors, and that of course means you won't have any AdSense revenue. In a way this is nothing new, as any form of generating revenue on the Internet with advertising has such a drawback.

And finally, another major problem is that you constantly have to feed your site with better and better content. Now, of course, certain sites are very well geared towards doing this but with some types of content this is rather hard to achieve. This is often why the services of a copywriter are employed to generate more and more content.

When writing original content, the best thing a website owner can do is research a topic thoroughly and then return to writing with lots of information they can out in their own words, and show their own opinion on.

So there are the pros and cons of using the AdSense network for generating profits through advertising. Now the choice of whether or not these work for you is yours.

Use Article Marketing To Increase Your Adsense Revenue.

When it comes to making money online most people over complicate things to the point of insanity. The truth is that with Google adsense you really only need two main things, traffic and a website or blog!

Once you have those two things the adsense will do the rest. Putting up a website or blog is simple. So simple in fact that most people can have there own up and running in a matter of minutes using some of the free platforms that are available on the Internet today like blogger or wordpress

With that said they most people will still lack the most important factor, traffic. Getting traffic is looked at as some black magic science that only a few know about. I remember when i started i thought there was some super secret SEO tricks that i needed to be successful. I spent money on alot of ebooks and courses only to be let down because the information i was receiving was basically the same rehashed crap everyone was pushing and it really never worked as promised.

I decided to dig a little deeper and teach myself a new way to get traffic and make good money from adsense instead of the pitiful pennies i was making a day.

After a few months of reading and learning on my own i finally figured it out and it took my adsense earnings to a new high of between $500-1000 per month from the previous $20-$25. While that maybe low to some people it sure has let me lead a funner and less stressful life!

The best part about my ways of getting traffic is it takes literally 30 minutes a day and most people could do it on their lunch hour at work, which as a matter of fact is when i do all my article writing. So with out further ramblings i Will go into the simplest strategy there is to get more money from adsense and more traffic to your money producing pages.

What Is Article Marketing

Article marketing is my method of choice for driving targeted interested visitors to my webpages. Now this is not a new concept but it is one that is often overshadowed by other fancier and methods that claim to be more effective ways to get traffic.

While there maybe fancier and more glamorous ways to get traffic, in my opinion nothing beats article marketing, well maybe Pay per click but that costs money and article marketing is free!

Article marketing is a simple concept. You write quality informative articles and submit them to the top article directories on the internet. In return for publishing your article the directories give you a resource box that you can put a link to your websites in. One good article can send thousands of visitors to your site in a short amount of time.

Along with the traffic directly from the article directories many blog and website owners will use your articles as site content. When done correctly they are supposed to leave your resource box in place with your links tact. This will provide you additional backlinks as well as the potential to siphon off some traffic from sites who publish your articles.

Top Article Directories that have worked well for me.

Ezinearticles (the best directory period)

Amazines

Article Dashboard

Go Articles (instant approval)

Afro Articles (500 word minimum)

Buzzle

Article Cube

One of the ways you can ensure that your articles receive good traffic is to do some simple keyword research. I use free wordtracker for this job. Its very easy to use, just enter your keyword in the box and the 100 most popular keywords for that phrase will come up.

I write my articles around the lower competition keywords that no one wants because they offer little search volume of 2-5 per day. These are easy to rank for and drive traffic to the articles and my sites very well. I would rather dominate 100 smaller keywords rather then 1 big one because if you lose 1 of 100 its no big deal but losing 1 of 1 is. Plus there is just safety in numbers that make me comfortable.

If you make an effort to sit down and write one article per day and focus on driving traffic to one site you will see a rise in traffic and in income.

Is Adsense Dead?

Adsense is not dead while many publishers claim to have been witnessing lower payouts lately the facts are they are probably in the wrong niches. The high paying niches are ones that have large corporate advertisers like loans, investing, insurance, mortgage, etc. With niches like this you can easily make dollars per click.

The smaller niches that are filled with drop shipping or home based retailers generally do not pay as well. These include alot of hobby related niches like pets, paintball or fishing and niches along those lines.

Although sometimes if you dig a little you can find a good sub niche in a low paying niche. For example the keyword "fishing" does not have high adwords bids but "canadian fishing trip" does. So always research a niche completely or you could be missing a goldmine.

Another thing to consider is how many advertisers there are in the niche you are looking at. The more advertisers the more ads will show on your site, this is important at the end of the month when some advertisers monthly budgets run out and the stop adwords for the month. If all the advertisers stop adwords then non paying public service ads will show up.

If you are unsure about how much a niche pays go to www.SpyFu.com and enter the main keyword into the search box. The current adwords bids will come up along with the number of advertisers. AS a adsense publisher you will get a portion of the Adwords revenue so obviously the higher the better. I try to stick with niches that have $4 and over adwords bids, at that level it tells me the advertisers have money and are making money so the bids should continue to remain high.

Also spyfu will show you a breakdown of adwords bids through out the year, look at the keyword "Canadian fishing trip" for example and you will see in July the adwords bids spike to 7.49 from 2.24 in January so some niches can earn more a certain times of the year.

My mortgage sites for example get better after Christmas when people want to refinance their debt they ran up though Christmas shopping and also in spring when they are buying houses. It tends to slow down from September to after Christmas.

How To Earn More With Adsense-Making Adsense Work For You Takes The Right System

Making money with Google adsense is something that many people attempt at and many people fail at. Although if you can approach it with the right plan of attack you an make a very nice side income, maybe even replace your daily jobs income. I currently use the system i am about to describe to make on average between $800-$1200 USD per month depending on traffic and click payout, and i do this working only on my lunch hour at work and a few hours on the weekend. All in all i probably put about 25 hours into my adsense efforts per month.

Pick The Right Niches Not The Fun Ones

Many adsense books and course tell you to start with a niche you know about and are interested in. They tell you this because its easy to write about things you like, but taking the easy way rarely gets anyone rich! Bottom line is write about something that pays well for your time, if it ends up to be something you like all the better.

To start with you need to pick a niche that has high bid prices in adwords, its also great if that niche has large corporate advertisers with huge ad budgets.
You can find this at www.spyfu.com just by entering the keyword in the search box you can see how many adwords advertisers there are and what the bid range is.
Stick with bid ranges that start at $2, at this level the advertisers probably have some capital backing them up and will bid higher in the google adwords content network which is where the google adsense ads come from.

Some of the best niches are in the mortgage, credit card, insurance and legal niches. These can easily payout over $2 per click so you may need very little traffic to make $10, $20 or even $100 per day.

Finding Good Keywords

First off keyword research is more like an educated guess more then anything. How often a keyword is searched for and what the competition is for that word can change on a daily basis. Although it is still better then guessing blindly in the dark!

Where To Get keyword's

Go to www.wordtracker.com and enter the keyword you want to check, for example enter mortgage refinance (a great paying niche) and it will return the 100 most popular keywords.

Next to those keywords is a number that tells how many times PER DAY that term is looked for on google. Find keywords with daily searches of 5 and above. Next enter that keyword with quotes "example keyword search" in google. The results that come up will show the amount of pages optimized for that keyword.

The lower the number of pages that gets returned the better it is for you. However you have to look at more then just the number of competing pages. You also have to look at the pages themselves. What is the Page rank of those pages. Are they keyword optimized for the keyword and do they use the keyword in the URL or page title?

If you see sites like howstuffworks.com, msnbc.com wikipedia.com on the front page you can pretty much figure you will have a hard time placing on the front page for that keyword and move onto the next one.

Google also has a great new keyword tool that supplies a lot more information the wordtracker. I just prefer wordtracker because i am used to it and it has worked for me.

Make Your Site

Many people use blogs for their adsense sites, while they work great i just prefer static HTMl sites and have ha good luck with them. With that in mind i will focus on HTML site building but if you use blogger or wordpress the methods will still wok the same. What i recommend for a good adsense site is making a 10 page website and writing your own content, rewriting PLR material or paying to have the content written for you.
Write the pages around keywords that have lower competition as described above. How you make the site is up to you. There are many programs that can turn articles into fast websites, programs like hypervre work well. Or you can grab a template and edit it quickly. I like and use this adsense template as it looks clean and has given me a good CTR and is very cheap. You will also need a HTML editor to edit your pages you can does this with a free HTML editor like www.nvu.com.
But if you are a little scared of editing HTML code you can always try Xsitepro this program can turnout some great looking sites with very little effort on the part of the user.

Place Your Adsense Ads

The next step after you get your site template and content written is to place your ads. On most sites the best ad format is going to be large 336 X 280 rectangle block placed above the content and under the title. However keep in mind Google is very picky about what the title says if the links are under it. If they are unhappy they may warn you, stop serving ads to your site or ban your account. They are looking for titles that lead the reader to believe the links hold more information, how they judge this is a mystery so to be safe i always put the ads over the title. While the 336x280 ads work well some people change this to the 300 X 250 or the 250 X 250 and have better luck.
Every site is different so experiment with yours. I also run a 160 x 600 skyscraper down the right side as i have fond the right side converts better the the left by just a little bit. I sometimes will change this adsense unit to an affiliate banner ad but for the most part i leave it as a adsense block.

When it comes to ad color I have found that the standard link color works the best on my sites. The code for this is 000FF and is the standard blue link color.
There has been some recent buzz about changing the links to red, i tried this and saw no increase or decrease in CTR so i like to leave it blue as it appears more natural to me. Again every site is different and Google makes changing colors very easy now, you can do it right in your adsense account. If you have the old adsense code you will have to change it for a the new style. As far as the text under the link i leave it all black or grey depending on my site.

Tracking Your Adsense Clicks

In order to fully analyze your adsense sites you need to know where your clicks are coming from. Fortunately Google makes this very easy for you by letting you set ad channel.
To set an add channel just click the add new channel link when you get to the channels page when generating your adsense code. What channels will do is tell you what ad block is generating clicks, this way you can track any modifications you make to ad layout or color. Without channels you are just guessing. You can also see your best performing sites and try and drive more traffic to them to make even more money.
For my sites i set two ad channels i refer to them as “site name” side and “site name” upper.

Drive Traffic To Your Sites

This is the part that can make or break your website. No matter how pretty your site is or how perfectly your a layout is without visitors you have no clicks or money coming in. Everyone has a unique approach to the way they drive traffic and i have developed my own method that has proved to work for me and give me a pretty good consistent stream of traffic.
I will lay it out in steps that are very easy to follow.

1. I write over a period of 30 days 30-40 articles based around some low to medium competition keywords and submit them at a rate of one per day. I do this using a program called article past robot to automate the submission and submit them to about 10 article directories.
I always submit to ezinearticles.com by hand first them i submit to the rest of the directories 24 hours later. If you are having a hard time writing article you can use instant article wizard to help you. Just remember to rewrite the articles it produces.

2.After the articles are written and published i start a blog at www.blogger.com and www.wordpress.org using the articles i wrote as content and leaving the author resource box in place.
I just basically copy and paste everything from ezinearticles.com. I post once per day to once every few days on each blog. Each post takes about 1 minute to make. After the first few posts i social book mark each blog at www.digg.com and www.propeller.com I also ping each blog after each post at www.pingmyblog.com

3.At the same time i will grab a free site at www.weebly.com and make a short five page site that includes a links resource page that has anchor text links pointing to all my ezinearticles.
The site is filled with some quickly rewritten content i either get from my site content, ezinearticles or PLR if i have it. I do the same over at www.tripod.com and will use digg and propeller again to social bookmark them.

4.Next I head over to www.squidoo.com and make a quick lense for my niche and again i just quickly rewrite some content and make a resource links page. Only this time i include anchor text links to my main website and my weebly website. Again i use digg and propeller to social bookmark the lense. Along with squidoo i will also utilize www.hubpages.com and write a few hub with some anchor text links in them pointing to my sites.

5.I will then go back and social bookmark all my ezinearticles using the tools available from www.onlywire.com and also a great one at http://www.ekstreme.com/socializer/ These free tools make it very fast to social book mark your sites. Keep in mind some sites may not allow ezinearticle submissions but many do. The best site to social book mark on is www.digg.com and there policy on ezinearticle submissions varies from week to week so always check and see if they are allowing them, its worth eh few minutes it takes. To get around that i will bookmark the resource page on my weeboly site that has anchor text links pointing to may ezinearticles.

6.After all my sites are made and all bookmarking has been done i will go submit a few comments on blogs. When i do this i enter a keyword associate with my site in the name box and enter my website address in the appropriate box. This will give you a text link to your site. Its a small thing but helps. Look for blogs that are in your niche or get a lot of traffic. Just remember to post useful comments and not spam.

That is my adsense strategy laid out before you. While it may seem like a lot it can actually be accomplished in 30-35 days. And when you are working with niches that have high payouts but stiff competition going the extra mile can really help you get the edge over your competition.
And if you do this for a niche that pays highly you can easily make $5 per day everyday, multiply that times 5,10,20 or whatever your goals are and you can start earning a nice side income.

Success on Adsense – 5 Quick Tips

As you use Google's AdSense for more and more time you begin to learn from the mistakes of the past, and you slowly begin to realize which of your actions kept your site from reaching its full potential.

But an important part to making a mistake is telling people about it and teaching them how to avoid making the same mistake. So this is a list of the top five mistakes people using AdSense make.

You should read them well, and see if any of them is applicable to your contents. If it is, you must stop and attempt to fix such errors as quickly as possible.

The first major no-no that everyone seems to be hitting at one point or another has to do with breaking the rules. Google's AdSense is a great program but it relies on you respecting a few set rules.

The most important thing is not to create "artificial clicks" through any means possible. Never click your own links, never ask your friends or close ones to click the links and never, by any means have your content encouraging the visitors to click the links. You run the risk of being permanently banned, and that will definitely damage your revenue.

Failing to comply with Google's terms could have your AdSense account suspended. And this is why this rule is by all means the most important one of all. It's because this is the difference between life or death.

The second thing users get wrong a lot of time is having a bad color palette for ads. Many times this happens because the publishers aren't knowledgeable enough to change default color palettes.

Others just can't seem to spend enough time in changing those defaults. Having bad ads that stand out is sure to push people away from clicking; whilst having something which is clearly visible yet distinctive will.

Third, of course, the position of the ads is probably the key element you should get right if you want to maximize your profits with AdSense. This is noted in a lot of places on the web and Google talks about this as well. Google can provide you with statistics which illustrate what positions work particularly well on your website.

Fourthly, banner ads are also a very bad idea if you're using AdSense. 480x60 type ads are a sure way to drive many people away as most Internet surfers have developed a natural resistance to such means of advertising.

And last, but clearly not least, is not taking care of the site running the ads. Because ultimately it doesn't matter how cool the site is itself. If it doesn't have updated contents and a lot of daily visitors it will probably never earn you any serious AdSense revenues.

So these are the most important five things people get wrong while using the AdSense program. But of course if you don't like this means of expressing the issues, here are the top five things you should do to ensure your AdSense ads are constantly bringing in that revenue.

Never break Google's policy. Don't make visitors create "artificial clicks" on your website regardless of the person doing so or the reason. Make sure your ads have the right colors that blend in with your site, and make sure they're positioned in the right places to attract as many customers as possible. Always try to avoid using banner-like (480x60) adds unless you really know what you're doing and constantly keep your site fresh and up to date.

So with that in mind you should be raising your AdSense revenues in no time.

Getting Started With Adsense

A very important element in the rapid adoption of AdSense is that it has been very easy for publishers to get the ads on their site as quickly as possible.

Integrating AdSense in your website takes only a few minutes, and you can be on your way with one or more nicely integrated AdSense ads.

The first thing you need to do is navigate to http://www.google.com/adsense and either apply or log in with your existing account and password. What follows is a page presenting the Google AdSense Terms and Conditions which you must agree to in order to proceed.

You are presented with a report page which you can use to get a detailed status on how your AdSense advertising is doing. This allows you to improve your site's contents and layout to maximize your AdSense earnings.

On the top of your page you also have link to the setup section where you can generate the code that will need to be pasted on your website in order to have AdSense banners on your page.

You can use AdSense for text (the said ads), using a search box or with referrals. Your choice among these options depends on how users will navigate your site.

Finally, there is a "My Account" tab which allows you to set up details concerning your account, payment and tax information.

To add a text ad on your site, go back to the "AdSense Setup" tab and click the "AdSense for content" link. Make sure you have cookies enabled in your browser.

You can make a choice between ad units and link units. The former contain text and or images concerning a certain site for each unit, most with a detailed description, the latter only contain links to certain types.

Of course, it's a bit hard to know which type you should use so you should probably experiment with both for a while before you decide.

You can also view an example of how the unit will look to the right of your page. However, you may only use three ad units and one link unit on any given page. This is believed to be a step which Google takes for quality control.

The next step is to choose your add format and colors. You can basically select any color palette you choose with Google offering some of its own if you don't have the time or skill to create one. You can constantly view how the palette will look through the aid of an example. The one that works best in terms of appearance and revenues will vary with the look, feel and content of a website.

However, your ad formats are limited to a choice of eleven formats. There's an "Ad Formats" link which takes you to a page that lets you see all even of these in action so you can decide best which one suits your site. Sometimes the most intrusive, doesn’t work best however again, this can vary from website to website.

After you finish with customization, you can click "Continue" from the bottom of the page.

You are now presented with a section entitled "AdSense for Content". You can click anywhere in the text and that shows the JavaScript required to get AdSense running. This will automatically select the text in the box.

You can then copy it and paste it into your pages directly. If you use dynamic pages, you should paste this code within your template so as to ensure that it gets displayed on any page of your website. Some advertisers choose not to display Adsense on every page, and this is understandable. An example of this is a company that has adsense, may also have terms and condition which would inevitably provide legal resources which would probably be deemed inappropriate.

What is then left for you to do is get content on your page (provided you didn't have any already). Google AdSense crawlers will soon visit your site, making sure that the ads displayed are relevant to your site's content.

And you're all done. For a simple page this should indeed be a matter of a few minutes, which is precisely what makes AdSense the choice for so many. Although it is quick, its mass appeal also makes it the best. Through being the most popular, advertisers and publishers alike see Adsense and Adwords as their natural first choice.

Increase Your Adsense And Afilliate Earnings With The Right Simple System

Just writing your content will not ensure that you earn money online. Even just writing your blog, website content or hubpages does not guarantee that people will even visit them. When i first started about a year ago I put up my first website monetized with Google AdSense and waited for the money to roll in. It never happened, in fact i got about 1 visitor a day with that first site but was determined to not give up. I knew there was way to get people to my websites and hubpages that would click the AdSense ads or buy the affiliate products i was offering. Once i figured it out I took my Google Adsense earnings to an average of $1000 per month and a few hundred in affiliate earnings as well. Not a huge million dollar pay day but enough to change my life style in a good way!

I bought a ton of ebooks, joined membership courses that promised the world and then it hit me. After cycling through all the crap i found a system that worked for me and it works very well. I will out line the system below in hopes that it will help struggling authors and other people trying to make money online reach their goals. The information may not be what some people agree with but it does work for me. So without further ramblings here is my system.

First you need to know what people are looking for. this is done easily with some simple keyword research. Alot of people put tons of time and effort into keyword research. In my opinion i would rather do something productive then run theoretical tests all day! With that in mind I head over to the Google Keyword tool and enter in the main keyword i am writing about. For example if i am writing about "Credit Repair" i will enter "Credit Repair" in the keyword box. Next i set the keyword options to exact match and hit enter. I look for keywords that have at least 300 monthly searches and medium to little competition. The Google tool shows monthly searches and the average competing web pages.

I then head over to the FREE keyword tool at word tracker and do the same thing. Only difference is at word tracker they show daily searches and you have to take the keywords and enter them into a Google search to see the competition. I will also enter the keyword in quotes like this "credit repair" this will return alot less competing pages but it does tell me a little closer how many other web pages are competing for this same term. If you get results under 10,000 its pretty easy to rank for in most cases, unless the sites listed are wikipedia, cnn.com and sites like that. In an instance like that move onto the next keyword because those sites are almost impossible to knock off.

With this method i will get my keyword list together and start to write my hubpagess, website content or blog posts. If i am having trouble writing articles I will use this awesome tool that has helped me tremendously when i have writers block or a in a jam.

Once i have my site or blog up and going i head over to www.digg.com and social bookmark it here and at www.propeller.com. I then wait for them to get indexed at Google, this normally takes 24-48 hours after bookmarking them. Hubpages usually index much faster since Google crawls them more frequently. If you are making a blog also make sure to ping them at www.pingomatic.com or www.pingmyblog.com pinging lets Google know you updated your blog and they will send their Google Bots to check it out.

Site indexing means that Google is aware your site or blog, or hub exists and puts it in their database. The easiest way to check this is to enter site:youweburl.com in a Google search. If your site pops up you are indexed. It may not index all your pages at one time put as long as the home page is there its on to the next step.

I then write a few articles about the subject matter at hand. I keep these article at about 300 words and write one per day for the next 10 days. After each one is submitted i submit them to the top article directories that consist of the following directories. Article marketing is a powerful way to drive traffic to your sites and gain back links. However it does take a not to explain in detail, and while i may do a separate article on it i feel the best place to get that information is this Ebook which has taught me a TON of valuable information and totally paid for itself many times over!

Ezinearticles (this is by far the best)

ArticleDashboard

Amazines

Goarticles

ArticleCube

I always submit to ezinearticles first then 48 hours later i submit to the rest of them. I use a tool called Article Post Robot that allows to me to spin the article, title and resource box to be different at each article directory.

Once i have my article submitted i move on to the next key word in my niche and start the process over. While it may seem like i did not reveal any super duper secrets to you i did tell you how to apply yourself and get traffic to your blog or website quickly, easily and consistently. And that is the key to making money online, hard work and consistency.
